When Melissa asked why the New Jersey governor called the state's schools "failure factories," Christie shouted at her, "Just do your job!" Since then, she has been active whenever possible, which included a run for Atlantic County Freeholder-at-Large in 2017, and is the executive director of the Badass Teachers Association. She also is the current acting chair of the Elections Committee of the Green Party of New Jersey.
Katie Ingersoll
Katie is a long-time activist who got her start as a student in anti-war organizing, and has worked with and learned from many amazing activists over the years. She's a facillitation and organizational dynamics enthusiast, and nothing makes her happier than seeing a team of amazing people accomplish things together that they couldn't do alone. She works in nonprofit arts and technology by day, and lives in Collingswood with her wife. She co-moderates the Racial Justice Study Group and takes point on organizational finances for SJWPC.
