Immigration Work

In this trying time, immigrant communities are under siege and need our help. Camden County is a solidly blue, Democratically-controlled county. We believe Camden County should be leading the way in making our communities safe for ALL its citizens. Thereby, the Immigration Action Group has three goals in Camden County:
  • To work with our Freeholders to pass a strong County-wide Fair and Welcoming policy in Camden County.
  • To pass Municipal Identification policies in towns across Camden County.
  • To connect with other organizations in NJ already doing this work and build a lasting coalition of highly networked, dedicated and effective immigrant activists in South Jersey.
Beyond Camden County, we will seek to pass similar legislation in other counties in South Jersey. If you are interested in joining our team, email Sue Altman and be on the front-lines as we meet with County Freeholders and other elected officials, and to connect with the broader group. We can do this!

Ways you can get involved:
  • Read up on the legislation.
  • Express the importance of human rights in your everyday life. Support immigrant owned businesses in Camden City and elsewhere around the County. Have discussions about these issues with co-workers, family and friends.
